NHRA racer tests at Bristol
Accustomed to streaking down straightaways at speeds in excess of 300 mph, Top Fuel driver Antron Brown tested his command of left turns Friday at Bristol Motor Speedway. In town for the NHRA Ford Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway, Brown circled the world's fastest half mile in a Dale Jarrett Racing Adventure car that was previously run on the NASCAR Nationwide circuit. Brown was enthusiastic following his 20-lap run but expressed uncertainty about piloting 500 circuits around the half-mile. "That was so much fun," he said. "The car drove great, but it took me a few laps to get the feel for the track and what line to take. This was my second time running laps at Bristol but my first time in a true stock car, and it was an awesome experience. I'm definitely not in round track shape though. I don't know how those guys stay focused for 500 laps." Bristol Motor Speedway
