Cox Re-Signs With Boschett Timepieces for 12-Race Schedule
The Boschett Timepieces car will compete in twelve events, including oval appearances at the legendary Milwaukee Mile and the National Short Track Championship in Rockford, Illinois, and road circuit races in Hallett, Oklahoma.
The oval races will form the bulk of the schedule, with ten events anticipated in the Mid-American Stock Car Series. After a seven-year absence from oval racing, Cox sharpened his skills with Pack Motorsports in the Super Cup Stock Car Series and Ed Yoak's ARCA Truck team last season, scoring top tens in both series and a third-place finish at West Virginia's Ona Speedway.
“It's like riding a bike. You never really forget how to do it," Cox said of his return to ovals. “I started on dirt ovals and then moved through the open wheel modified ranks early in my career. And I was on ovals all last season as a refresher, so I'm pretty comfortable by now."
“My concern is establishing chemistry with the team and getting to the front quickly. I want to win races right out of the box. We've scored a bunch of road racing wins but haven't had an oval win in a while," the 2004 GT Challenge Series champion said.
The Boschett Timepieces Mid-American car is a newly-rebuilt RCH chassis powered by a 355-cubic inch Chevy small block V8 producing 445 horsepower. The team's first event is the Digital Fuel Solutions Mid-Summer Meltdown at the Grundy County Fairgrounds Speedway in Morris, Illinois.
