Historic Silver Arrows on the Nurburgring Nordschleife
On Thursday 4th July, the team warmed up for its home race in Germany by sending its two drivers out on a lap of the Nordschleife at the Nurburgring in two historic Silver Arrows – Nico in a Type W 196 and Lewis in a Type W 154. Juan Manuel Fangio (1954) and Richard Seaman (1938) respectively drove the same models to victory at the Nürburgring.
The legendary Nordschleife has frequently played a major role in the history of the Silver Arrows, from the debut victory for Manfred von Brauchitsch driving a W 25 in 1934 to the win for Juan Manuel Fangio in 1954 at the wheel of the W 196.
