Hulkenberg helmet raises money for flood victims

A helmet worn by Sauber driver Nico Hulkenberg during the Malaysian and Bahrain Grand Prix weekends has fetched nearly 6,500 British Pounds in an online charity auction.

The helmet, which has been personally signed by Hulkenberg, was put up for sale on eBay to raise money for the thousands of victims displaced from their homes as a result of the south German floods. Occurring in June, the floods affected large swathes of eastern Europe, with the Danube river water levels rising to a 500 year high.

After running for 14 days with a starting price of 1 Euro, the auction came to an end on Sunday, with a final total of 7,449 Euros (6,445 British Pounds) being raised.
