Formula E unveils brand new Championship website

Championship promoter Formula E Holdings has today launched the first phase of its official new website – www.fiaformulae.com – for the FIA Formula E Championship.

The new platform contains all the latest news, images and information on the series which begins in 2014 and will see fully-electric Formula cars competing in 10 city-centre circuits all over the world. Details of the stunning new Spark-Renault SRT_01E Formula E car are also available, including an interactive 3D model, gallery, full specification and an audio preview of how it will sound.

Visitors will also be able to get the lowdown on the event format for all races plus profiles of the two teams already announced – Drayson Racing and Team China – as well as a wide selection of videos including interviews and onboard action. Meanwhile, with Formula E races taking place in city-centers, the calendar section gives visitors a detailed destination guide into the host city itself, allowing fans to plan their visit with tips on everything from where to stay to the best places to visit.

Unique to Formula E is its environment section which outlines the Championship’s vision for the future in terms of promoting and developing sustainable mobility, in addition to offering tips on how to save energy and reduce your own carbon footprint.

And when the season starts in 2014, the Formula E website will also feature Live Timing, thanks to official Timing Partner TAG Heuer, in addition to live video streaming ensuring fans never miss any of the action.

Formula E Chief Marketing Officer Jaume Sallares said: “We’re delighted to be launching the first phase of our brand new website today, which we hope will give people a better insight into the exciting new FIA Formula E Championship. Over the coming months we will be adding many more new features such as an interactive Carbon Calculator, profiles on new joining teams and drivers, detailed circuit locations and layouts, as well as information on how to purchase tickets to the Formula E events. We hope the new site becomes the ‘meeting point’ for everyone interested in learning more about Formula E."
