Bridgestone Motorsport Continues Development with DeltaWing at Mosport
The DeltaWing concept car will compete for the fourth time this season in the American Le Mans Series P1 category, building on momentum from extended runs and podium finishes the past two events. Bridgestone Motorsport is supplying uniquely sized Potenza race tires and engineering assistance for the 2013 season. Andy Meyrick and Katherine Legge are again set to co-drive.
Bridgestone Potenza Tires Supplied: Two dry-compound formulas of the exclusively sized Potenza tires are again available for the DeltaWing to use this weekend – 10 sets each of the hard and medium compounds that debuted July 5-6 in the ALMS Northeast Grand Prix at Lime Rock Park. Should conditions warrant, six sets of Potenza rain tires are also available. The size of the front tire is 4.0/23.0R15 and the rear tire is 12.0/24.5R15.
From Dale Harrigle, Chief Engineer, Bridgestone Motorsport: “We were quite pleased with the performance of the new Potenza tire specifications two weeks ago at Lime Rock, so we will supply the same specs this weekend. The tires displayed improved durability, which allowed the DeltaWing to run longer stints, and that’s something we’re all looking to continue building on this weekend. The development steps are slow, but we are all seeing solid progress and are excited for the prospects this weekend."
