Wolff eyeing 2014 FP1 drives with Williams

Wolff is looking for some Friday morning track cleaning gigs in 2014

Susie Wolff says she is hoping to get some Friday practice drives for Williams next season following her Young Driver Test appearance.

Having delivered a solid performance at Silverstone, Wolff received praise from the Williams team but both she and chief race engineer Xevi Pujolar ruled out FP1 drives this season. Though yet to gain her superlicense, Wolff said she now wants to sit down with the team and work out the next stage of her development.

"I need to analyze the day properly and speak with the team a little bit more," Wolff said. "Obviously we have two great race drivers just now and there's no possibility of that happening before the end of the season – Friday driving – but let's see. I'm not someone that likes to sit still; I always like to move forward, I always like to keep achieving, so of course I want to see what the next step possible is now.

"But on the other side I had a fantastic chance from the team. They took the chance to put me in the car, many people said they were crazy, why were they wasting a day on me? And they took that chance and I was happy that I could do a good job and pay them back for that."

With husband and Mercedes executive director Toto present for part of the test, Wolff said she was lucky to have his support but that he had no influence on which opportunities she gets.

"There are so many questions and people saying I'm only where I am because of him, but make no qualms he supports me a lot. I'm incredibly lucky to have him as a husband because there's not many guys who would support their wife getting in to a Formula One car. He was worried about it, he could have come earlier but he was a bit worried about seeing me out there. He knew how fast it was and he was nervous – probably more nervous than I was – but ultimately the team had the decision who was driving, he had nothing to do with that and he wanted to come just as a husband rather than in the position that he's in."
