Afternoon Update No. 2 from Mid-Ohio

Qualifying for Race #1 of the USF 2000 Mid Ohio Grand Prix concluded just over an hour ago with Neil Alberico putting the #2 Cape Motorsports with WTR car on the pole. Alberico was followed by Garrett Grist of Andretti Autosport and Cooper Tires US F 2000 Championship Powered by Mazda championship leader Scott Hargrove of Cape Motorsports with WTR.

Alberico, a native of Los Gatos, CA has won 3 races this season (Sebring Race 2, Lucas Oil Raceway, and Toronto Race 2). Practice 1 also just concluded for the Firestone Indy Lights Series. Championship leader Carlos Munoz led the session with a time of 1:13.56. Jack Hawksworth was second nearly two-tenths behind Munoz. Axcil Jeffries making his Indy Lights debut for Bryan Herta Autosport was third.

Practice 2 for the Izod IndyCar Series begins at 3:30 p.m.
