Afternoon Update from Mid-Ohio
I was just over near the Schmidt Petersen garage area, where they are feverishly working to get Vautier's backup car ready for today's race. The team also changed engines, thus will take the 10-grid spot penalty and start 21st.
Speaking of rushing to prepare cars, you might remember Charlie Kimball wrecked the #83 NovoLog FlexPen Honda in yesterday's morning practice. The #83 team then feverishly rushed to fix the car with help from Target Chip Ganassi Racing crewmen. I asked one of the #83 crew guys if they were close to not having it ready yesterday. He simply smiled and said, "We got it ready in time."
The Pirelli World Challenge cars are about to begin their race. Green flag for the Izod IndyCar Series Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio is in about 2 hours ten minutes. More to follow……
