Mid-Ohio Indy Lights Wrap
Gabby Chavez put on a driving exhibition at Mid-Ohio, landing his first career win in Indy Lights. Peter Dempsey came in second, and Jack Hawksworth played defensive driving all race long to finish third.
Hawksworth was involved in an early tangle with Carlos Munoz, resulting in Munoz spinning through the grass and coming out around 10th position. Munoz put on a driving exhibition pulling back through the field, finally ending up on Hawksworth’s rear wing. Hawksworth had been defending his position against Zach Veach for several laps, and likewise held off Munoz for the balance of the race.
With 8 laps remaining Giancario Serenelli spun off of the track, causing a full-course caution. The race resumed for the last 5 laps under green, but no changes in position were seen.
