Tagliani to run Ferrari at Kansas

Alex Tagliani may be out of his IndyCar seat for the remainder of the season, but that will not slow down the French-Canadian driver.

"Tag" as his is known in the racing world, will be taking part in the Kansas Grand-Am event in the series first visit to the track, driving with Jeff Segal in the R.Ferri/Aim Autosport 458.

The IndyCar regular was recently ousted from his Barracuda Racing seat after owners asked him to step aside to allow two younger drivers, the likes of Luca Fillipi and J.R. Hildebrand to test in the final six races of the season. Rumors state that while he is out of his Barracuda seat for the time being, he will start at least one more race before season's end.

Tagliani told Racer.com that he is excited at the prospect of racing in Kansas.

"My father was so happy to finally see that his son will be racing a Ferrari." the Italian-Canadian said. "I never thought I'd get to race in the famous Ferrari red, and I'm looking forward to driving with Jeff Segal and learning about what it takes to go fast in these modern GT cars. I'm really, really excited."

The event in Kansas is slated for Aug. 17.
