New Logo for 40th Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach

Grand Prix Association of Long Beach officials unveiled a new-look logo for the 40th Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, April 11-13, 2014, in conjunction with the start of its ticket renewal period.

From Monday, Aug. 19 through Friday, Oct. 4, fans can renew their same seats, IZOD IndyCar Paddock Access tickets and parking by visiting gplb.com or by calling the Grand Prix ticket office at (888) 82-SPEED.

The new logo, created by the Los Angeles-based Vessel Design Group, features a stylized Indy car flanked by an ocean wave and a palm tree, signifying the unique attributes of the Grand Prix’s 1.97-mile, 11-turn race course on the downtown streets of Long Beach, Calif.

“The new logo perfectly captures our themes of sun, fun and speed," said Jim Michaelian, president and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach. “We are looking forward to putting on our biggest and best show yet for the race’s 40th running. The 2014 event will be a celebration of America’s number one street race, both off the track and on."

Featuring a variety of entertaining activities for the entire family, the 2014 Grand Prix will again be headlined by the IZOD IndyCar Series®, expected to feature drivers such as two-time series champ Scott Dixon, the series’ 2013 points leader; defending series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay; defending Long Beach winner Takuma Sato; past Long Beach winners Helio Castroneves, Dario Franchitti and Will Power, and Marco Andretti.

Race weekend’s festival of family entertainment will include free Friday and Saturday night Tecate Light concerts and the Lifestyle Expo with a Family Fun Zone that includes racing simulators, kids’ racing cars, computer games and action sports. Also in the Expo will be the ever-growing Green Power Prix-View, featuring the latest in environmentally conscious products for the car and home. Add to that multiple driver autograph sessions, the popular Food Truck Experience, Sunday’s Mothers Exotic Car Paddock, and it’s a weekend packed full of activity.

Once the renewal period has concluded, tickets will go on sale to the public Oct. 18.
