Vettel dominates second Italian GP practice

Sebastian Vettel – just too good

Sebastian Vettel turned the fastest lap in the second practice for the Italian Grand Prix by a whopping 0.6-second margin in his Red Bull.

The world champion led most of the session and his lap of 1m24.453s beat Red Bull teammate Mark Webber by a wide margin.

"It will be very tight this weekend, as we saw in the first practice. It will be close tomorrow in qualifying with quite a few cars separated by only a few hundredths of a second. There are a few things we still need to do to optimize the car, as there are two or three corners where we are sliding more than we would like. It’s positive today, but it’s only a Friday."

The Lotus pair Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean turned identical laps of 1m25.116s just 0.040s behind.

Fernando Alonso was fifth in the Ferraris.

Felipe Massa in the second Ferrari was eighth behind Mercedes duo Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
