Logano keeps win despite failing inspection at Dover
The penalty cuts the team's lead in the owner standings to 28 points over the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 54 team. Crew chief Jeremy Bullins was fined $10,000 as part of the standard penalty for the infraction.
Penske Racing will not appeal.
"(We) had a spring retaining screw back out during Saturday’s Nationwide Series race, which resulted in the car’s front end being too low by 1/16th of an inch when presented for post race inspection," the team said in a statement. "The problem is being addressed internally to prevent it from happening again."
Although Penske Racing as an organization was on probation in the wake of the race-manipulation investigation that followed this month's Cup race at Richmond International Raceway, NASCAR typically only increases penalties when the infraction is similar to the one that brought on the probation.
