Sato crashes Foyt’s No. 14, cleared to drive

Sato on track for night practice after wadding up his primary No. 14

In IndyCar practice Friday in Fontana #14 Takuma Sato did a full spin in Turn 4 and made hard left-rear contact with the SAFER Barrier. There is heavy damage to the rear of the car. Sato climbed from the car without assistance from the Holmatro Safety Team.

Medical update from Dr. Michael Olinger, INDYCAR Medical Director: Takuma Sato has been checked and released from the infield care center. He is cleared to drive.
