Hawksworth crashes No. 77, cleared to drive

#77 Indy Lights driver Jack Hawksworth spun and made light contact with the SAFER Barrier in Turn 2 Friday. The Car traveled down the track and came to rest in the grass in Turn 2. There was damage to the left rear of the car. Hawksworth from the car without assistance from the Holmatro Safety Team.
Medical update from Dr. Michael Olinger, INDYCAR Medical Director: Jack Hawksworth has been checked and released from the infield care center. He is cleared to drive.
JACK HAWKSWORTH (No. 77 Schmidt Peterson c/w Curb-Agajanian): "I came out of the pits and was coming on the access road, and then the back suddenly snapped on me. I had a flat tire, I don't know if that's what happened on impact or if that's what caused the back to snap. Either I dropped it or we had a tire explosion."
