Fogarty, Gurney sign with Stallings for TUSCC

GAINSCO/Bob Stallings Racing is only committed to the four rounds of the 2014 TUDOR United SportsCar Championship that count toward the North American Endurance Championship, but when they do appear, they'll have their two-time Rolex Series champions at the controls when John Fogarty and Alex Gurney pilot the No. 99 Corvette DP.

“Fortunately, Bob's shortened program next year won't compromise our ongoing relationship," Fogarty told RACER. “We're committed only for the long races right now, but we expect to be right there fighting for wins wherever we go."

The “Red Dragon," which will soon be updated with the new high-downforce Daytona Prototype package, is currently scheduled to race at the 24 Hours of Daytona, 12 Hours of Sebring, Six Hours at Watkins Glen and the 10-hour/1000-mile season finale at Petit Le Mans. It's also possible the Texas-based team will run at its home event at the Circuit of The Americas.

“I'm excited to be back, and can't wait to drive the car with all the updates – all the extra downforce and power," said Gurney. “It has been a tough off-season so far; I'd hoped to do the full season, but it's nice to be back with Bob and the entire team. I'll hate to miss Long Beach; I'll be crying on the sidelines – it's my real home race, so it would be nice if we found a way to add that race to our schedule, too."
