Greensboro, N.C., was the highest-rated market in the nation with a 10.3 rating for the race telecast, followed by Greenville, S.C., at 8.6 and Norfolk, Va., at 6.9. Charlotte, N.C., was fourth at 6.7 and Knoxville, Tenn., fifth at 6.3.
The rest of the top 10 markets were Nashville, Tenn., and Orlando, Fla., at 6.2, Indianapolis at 5.8, Raleigh-Durham, N.C., at 5.4 and Richmond, Va., at 5.2
11/18/13 ESPN earned a 2.7 overnight rating for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series finale from Homestead-Miami Speedway yesterday afternoon, which saw Jimmie Johnson capture his sixth title in eight years. That figure is flat compared to last year's finale, which saw Brad Keselowski win the championship, and down 27% from the '11 finale, when Tony Stewart won the race and the series title.
