Video: Jay Mohr cuts up Danica Patrick (Update)

UPDATE Kyle Busch provided one of the "more entertaining speeches." Busch noted he had not been on stage since '10 and noted "not much has changed. Jimmie and Chad win the championship. Dale (Earnhardt) Jr. is the most popular driver. Mike Helton’s mustache is the still the same. And Jay Mohr’s jokes haven’t changed."

12/08/13 Danica Patrick is an easy target for Jay Mohr at the 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards Banquet. You know, the joke was based in some truth.

Host Jay Mohr joked at Friday night's Sprint Cup banquet that he hoped that Danica Patrick wasn't uncomfortable being close to the stage because she's not used to being up front.

Patrick didn't laugh and neither did boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. After the joke, Mohr tried his best to smooth things over but it may not have worked very well.

While she qualified on the pole for the Daytona 500 and ran up front for most of the race, that was the only time that Patrick did that in 2013. She didn't lead any more laps or finish in the top 10 the rest of the season.

And let's be honest, that joke works for any number of drivers who were near the back of the pack in the Sprint Cup Series next season. It's not something that can only be used against her.

Patrick will be in Mohr's role on Tuesday when she co-hosts the ACAs — a country music awards show — with Trace Adkins. The bet here is that Patrick will be performing some jokes about country music singers in her time on stage.
