NASCAR Media Day Special Thursday on ESPNEWS

With the 2014 NASCAR season getting underway this week at Daytona International Speedway, ESPN’s NASCAR news and information program NASCAR Now will have a special three-hour program with coverage of NASCAR Media Day at Daytona on Thursday, Feb. 13, beginning at noon ET on ESPNEWS. Host Mike Massaro and analyst Ricky Craven will be in the studio with reporter Nicole Briscoe on-site in Daytona. The program will include interviews with many of the sport’s top drivers as well as news and analysis.

ESPN Classic Airing Flock, Petty SportsCentury Programs

NASCAR Hall of Fame members Tim Flock and Richard Petty, two of the sport’s greatest all-time drivers, will be showcased by ESPN Classic in airings of the network’s signature program SportsCentury on Sunday, Feb. 16.

Flock, who was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame this year, is featured in SportsCentury program airing at 9 a.m. Petty, a member of the inaugural class of inductees, is featured at 11 a.m.

Next week in advance of the Daytona 500 and the start of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, ESPN Classic will air highlights from numerous past editions of the Great American Race. The programming starts Wednesday, Feb. 19.

NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Action Airs Sunday on ESPN2

The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series has the weekend off but drag racing fans can still see some racing action on Sunday, Feb. 16, at noon ET on ESPN2 with highlights of the recent NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Pomona, Calif. Anchor Dave Rieff and analyst Alan Reinhart will call the racing.
