Mike Conway returns to the World Endurance Championship

Mike Conway will compete in the 2014 World Endurance Championship under the newly-formed Millennium Racing banner.

Conway, 30, made his debut in WEC last year and his consistent speed and talent was recognized during his debut season when he was awarded ‘Revelation of the Year’ at the FIA WEC Prize Giving in December. Mike and his co-drivers won five out of eight races and finished second overall in the championship standings.

Driving the Nissan-powered No. 23 Oreca 03 car, Conway will have veteran Le Mans 24-hour driver Shinji Nakano and former F1 driver and Le Mans winner Stefan Johansson as teammates.

“It’s great to be back in LMP2 for another season," said Conway. “I didn’t know what to expect from my first year in sportscar racing, but the level of success we achieved made 2013 one of my most rewarding motorsport seasons to date. We just missed out on winning the championship, so hopefully with Stefan and Shinji and Millennium Racing we can go one step further."

Not only will Conway drive in the WEC, he has also been retained by Ed Carpenter Racing in the IndyCar series for all road/street circuits as well as being part of TOYOTA Racing’s LMP1 WEC program as test and reserve driver.
