Goodyear shifts branding for Camping World Truck Series
"What we've found, as a company, is that more of our customers who buy tires for their street trucks are now buying 'Eagles,'" said Greg Stucker, Goodyear's director of race tire sales. "While our 'Wrangler' line is still an extremely popular choice for those consumers that need a more rugged tire, the 'Eagle' brand is a performance tire, which goes along with today's changing demands. Since we have branded our Sprint Cup and Nationwide tires as 'Eagle' since 1980, race fans also identify that as our racing brand."
The move is effective as of Daytona Speedweeks 2014, marking the first time Camping World Truck Series teams will have run Goodyear Eagles since the season ending race of 2003 (Nov. 14) at Homestead Miami Speedway. Goodyear Racing PR
