TRG-AMR Statement on Passing of Emilio Di Guida

A statement from TRG-AMR Chief Executive Officer Kevin Buckler on Emilio Di Guida, who died March 1 near Doral, Fla., at age 50. He reportedly succumbed to a heart attack suffered while jogging near his home in Doral, Fla. Di Guida, a native of Venezuela, drove for the team in American Le Mans Series and GRAND-AM competition from 2011-12, earning two GTC class victories in 2012:

"It is with heavy hearts that we learned of Emilio's passing. He was a TRG driver, teammate and friend. Emilio's goals were always to get to the front, to try harder, to race harder. He always wanted it bad and was one of the most passionate and spirited drivers I have ever met.

"We had some great times with him and (wife) Carla during the two seasons they spent with our team, and we recall fondly Emilio's many trips to the podium as well as two fantastic victories with us. He will be missed."
