Grenier joins KV Racing Technology

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – March 4, 2014 – KV Racing Technology announced today that former Star Mazda and Indy Lights driver Mikael Grenier will be associated with the team during the 2014 IndyCar Series season.
Grenier, who tested with the team in January, will attend team meetings at selected races and if circumstances permit test, with the possibility of a more extensive relationship developing in the future.
"We are very happy to have Mikael be associated with KV Racing Technology," said KVRT General Manager Steve Moore. "Mikael did a good job during the test earlier this year and we felt a more formal association was warranted. We look forward to having him attend several races this year in an effort to accelerate his learning curve with an eye toward developing a more substantial relationship in the future."
Grenier, a 21-year-old from Stoneharn, Quebec, began his career in karting in his native Canada. He competed in Formula BMW Americas in 2008, moved to Star Mazda for a partial season in 2009, then ran 11 of the 12 Star Mazda races in 2010 finishing eighth in the championship. Grenier joined the Firestone Indy Lights in 2011 competing in five races earning four top-10 finishes with one top-five showing, a fifth place finish at Barber Motorsports Park. He rejoined the Indy Lights in 2013 for one race, qualifying and finishing seventh at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

KVRT will operate two teams during the 2014 IndyCar Series season. KVSH Racing, a partnership between Kalkhoven, Vasser and James "Sulli" Sullivan, will field an entry for four-time champion Sebastien Bourdais. KVAFS Racing a partnership between Kalkhoven, Vasser and Gary Peterson, will field an entry for talented young driver Sebastian Saavedra.
