NASCAR penalizes cheaters in Las Vegas
On March 6, 2014, NASCAR found the No. 11 Toyota, driven by Elliott Sadler, to have violated sections 12-4.3, which is a P3 penalty and sections 20A-2.3A for a weight attached in an unapproved location. Sadler’s crew chief, Chris Gayle, has been fined $10,000 and placed on probation until Dec. 31. Also, car chief, Todd Brewer, will be placed on probation until December 31st for rule violations.
The No. 9 team of Chase Elliott will also be fined for his car exceeding the minimum front height. As a result of violating sections 12-4.2 and 20A-12.8.1B, crew chief ,Greg Ives, will be placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31. This particular penalty will be in the P2 category.
The No. 22 Ford driven by Brad Keselowski was found to have violated sections 12-4.2 and 20A-12.3S for a shock exceeding the maximum gas pressure. Because of this, crew chief, Jeremy Bullins, has been fined $5,000 and placed on NASCAR probation until Dec. 31. Like the penalty to Elliott’s team, this will be a P2 penalty as well.
