Crowd-Funded Effort To Sponsor SFHR Car In Indianapolis 500
Cutters Race Team (CuttersRT) today announced its unique, fan-funded sponsorship will assist the No. 67 Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing (SFHR) entry driven by Josef Newgarden for the 2014 Indianapolis 500.
The fan funding will provide a significant addition to corporate sponsorship of the car driven in “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" on Sunday, May 25 by talented American Newgarden.
"We are very excited to sponsor Josef Newgarden and the No. 67 car for Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing," Travis Tetrault, co-founder of CuttersRT said. “We thank all of our early supporters and look forward to seeing their names on the No. 67 entry."
CuttersRT began its crowd-funding program by asking fans to purchase a sponsorship package for $100, naming the entry “The People’s Race Car." The program has successfully raised capital to accompany corporate support for Newgarden’s Honda-powered entry.
Fans can continue to donate and become official supporters of Newgarden’s SFHR entry in May at the fabled Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Various support packages are available at www.cuttersrt.com, each with different options for prizes and opportunities to participate in numerous trackside events before the race.
Newgarden, 23, from Hendersonville, Tenn., has driven for SFHR since 2012. He finished 14th in the 2013 Verizon IndyCar Series standings.
