Florida Lawmakers Have A Week To Decide On Daytona Funding
The Florida Legislature heads into the last week of its annual session, where it could determine whether Daytona Int'l Speedway's renovations "qualify for tax incentives." The "chance is still there" for the track to get $2M a year in sales tax revenue, with a proposal before the state Senate "on its special-order calendar for a vote" tomorrow. The state House on Friday passed a bill that "would create a competitive process for the Speedway and other stadiums to apply" for the tax incentives. Daytona Beach NEWS-JOURNAL
