Dallara’s simulator flawed
Mario Andretti got in Dallara's new IndyCar simulator earlier this week.
"I was playing around and drove on that white (line in the IMS turns) and all of a sudden I'm crashing," he told the Indy Star. "It actually was scary.
"Then before you know it I'm up (high) looking down on the Speedway. I said to the engineer, 'Am I dead? Am I looking down from upstairs?' "
Then things got virtually weird.
"I not only went through the wall, I went under the grandstands and out on 16th Street," he said.
Hearing Andretti tell the story, James Hinchcliffe joked that something similar happened to him when he simulated driving on the IMS road course.
"I spun out and ended up at Long's Donuts (on 16th Street)," he said.
