Rain Cancels Truck Practice & Qualifying at Dover Thursday
Persistent rain showers all day at Dover Int’l Speedway forced NASCAR officials to cut short NASCAR Camping World Truck Series practice and qualifying, handing the pole for Friday’s Lucas Oil 200 to Kyle Busch.
NASCAR managed to get the track dry for a brief practice session late in the afternoon, with Busch setting the fastest time. His 23.005-second lap at 156.488 mph was easily the fastest lap of the session, besting German Quiroga’s 23.238-second lap at 154.919 mph.
Not long after practice started it began to rain again, forcing NASCAR to call it a day and cancel the remainder of practice as well as qualifying. Busch will be joined on the front row for Friday’s race by defending series champion Matt Crafton. Timothy Peters, Quiroga and Tyler Reddick fill the remainder of the top five starting positions.
