Circuit of The Americas names new chief marketing officer

Circuit of the Americas (COTA) has named Dominic Iacono as chief marketing officer for the award-winning, multi-purpose venue in Central Texas.

Iacono will oversee all marketing, strategy, digital/social, content, guest and member relations, media, and guest experience initiatives for the company.

Initiatives include the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix, ESPN’s Summer X Games, MotoGP’s Red Bull Grand Prix of The Americas, the Lone Star Le Mans, concerts and festivals at the Austin360 Amphitheater. Iacono will report to COTA President and Chief Executive Officer Jason Dial and assumes his new responsibilities today, June 2.

“We are thrilled to welcome Dominic to the Circuit of The Americas family," Dial said. “Bringing in someone of his caliber is a huge win for the organization. He is an outstanding leader and brings a wealth of marketing and brand-building expertise, making him a perfect complement to our team."

Iacono has led some of the best-known global consumer packaged goods brands during his 11-year career at Procter & Gamble (P&G), including Duracell, Luvs, Pampers and major P&G brands sold through Target stores.

The 39-year-old most recently served as global marketing director for the Duracell brand and was credited as one of the key leaders to help return the Duracell brand to growth. Iacono led Duracell’s introduction into sports marketing with the National Football League and was the lead architect behind Duracell’s extremely successful “Trust the Power Within" sports campaign, which went viral with more than 30 million online views.

“I am very excited to join the COTA team and help bring attention to the premium products and world-class experiences our fans enjoy each time they visit the circuit," Iacono said. “The world’s best drivers, riders, athletes and artists come to COTA to compete and perform, and I look forward to helping the team consistently deliver exceptional experiences that delight our members and guests."
