IMSA, SunTrust Banks, Inc. Continue Partnership For 2014 Season

Extending one of the longest running relationships in the sports car paddock, the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) and SunTrust Banks Inc., today announced a partnership that aligns North America’s premier sports car racing organization with one of the nation’s leading financial services holding companies.

The partnership gives official partner rights to SunTrust Bank and gives it branding and promotional visibility on the Toshiba Motorsport Business Center.

“We are pleased to continue our relationship with SunTrust, a valued partner and a mainstay in the sports car paddock for over a decade," said IMSA Vice President of Marketing David Pettit. “SunTrust has deep roots in our sport, including a long association with GRAND-AM Road Racing prior to this new relationship with IMSA."

SunTrust Bank has been heavily involved in sports car racing since 2004 as both a partner and team sponsor. This partnership also allows SunTrust to entertain and conduct business at-track in a premium environment found at all IMSA and TUDOR United SportsCar Championship events.

“Sports car racing encourages innovation, teamwork and competition, while showcasing the incredible talents of its participants," said John P. Hondros, Managing Director of SunTrust Banks Sports & Entertainment Group. “Through our partnership with IMSA, we look forward to not only continuing our many valued relationships in the paddock, but forging new ones as well."
