Rain hits LeMans, Toyota wipes out Audi and Ferrari

The 24 Hours of LeMans started out with sunny skies, but turned dark with a sudden rain storm that caught the No. 8 Toyota out with Lapierre at the wheel. A slower group of cars were in front, including the No. 3 Audi, when Lapierre came flying up and lost control when he hit the brakes and aquaplaned into the Armco, also collecting the GTE Am #81 car of Bird on the Mulsanne Straight and the No. 3 Audi driven by Bonanomi. The Audi looks done for the day but the Toyota team is working to get the No. 8 back on the track. The No. 7 Toyota still leads.
