Big attendance announced for LeMans

263,300 spectators attended the 82nd Le Mans 24 Hours. The Automobile Club de l’Ouest is delighted with this figure, the highest in the last 20 years!

In 2012 the Automobile Club de l’Ouest counted 240,000 spectators and in 2013 245,000 people came to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the event. This year 263,300 spectators flocked to the Sarthe to attend the greatest endurance race in the world!

The Le Mans 24 Hours-race continues to meet with increasing success. The new 2014 technical regulations and the return of Porsche in the LM P1 category are all reasons that have contributed to the rise in popular enthusiasm for this legendary event.

The new media tools put in place have also been a big success, and they have enabled a huge number of people to follow the race all over the world. 203 000 people have downloaded the new Le Mans 24-Hours application since 25th May and 2 055 256 surfers connected to the event’s official site 24h-lemans.com. The WebTV attracted more than 5 million web spectators (figures frozen at 15h00 on 15th June). The Le Mans 24-Hours official Facebook page attracted 300,000 fans and 112,000 followers tuned in to our information on Twitter thanks to #24LM.
