NASCAR Michigan TV Ratings

The NASCAR Sprint Cup race from Michigan earned a 2.7 U.S. rating and 4.254 million viewers on TNT Sunday, down 4% in ratings and 6% in viewership from last year (2.8, 4.5M), down 16% and 19%, respectively, from 2012 (3.2, 5.3M), and the lowest rated edition of the race since at least 1996. The previous low was a 2.8 rating for last year's race.

Sunday's race also ranks as the lowest rated and least-viewed regular Sprint Cup telecast of the season. Of the thirteen Sprint Cup races that can be compared to last year, twelve have had declines in ratings and eleven have had declines in viewership. For the week, NASCAR on TNT was the #4 program on cable and the top sporting event – topping all World Cup telecasts on ESPN.
