Video: Rallycross Car Races By National Monuments In Washington, DC
For the first time in over ten years, Washington, DC will feel the thrill of revving engines, precision driving and the smell of burning rubber as the intense action of professional motorsports racing parks itself on iconic American turf.
Tire smoke wasn't the only thing left in the wake of one of the most respected performance and Rallycar drivers in the world, Rhys Millen, as he toured his adopted country's famous landmarks during the height of tourist season. Getting escorted through the city within a motorcade, Millen was struck by the view of both the US Capitol Building and the Washington Monument. His journey ended at the dirt and gravel racetrack at RFK stadium where Red Bull Global Rallycross will take place this weekend. View the action on Youtube here.
"Being that this is my first time in DC, it's been incredible to bring my race car to the historic streets and iconic locations. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," said Millen, who is a stunt driver when not professional Rallycross racing. "Couldn't imagine a better build-up for the race this weekend".
