De Silvestro gets second F1 test run
De Silvestro joined Sauber at the start of the year as an affiliated driver and in April completed a two-day test at Fiorano with the C31 – Sauber's 2012 F1 car. She will now get another run in August with Sauber, but at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas, home of the United States Grand Prix since 2012.
"My racing career has evolved in America, so I can't think of a better track to train at than Circuit of The Americas," said the Swiss driver, who raced in IndyCar for four years between 2010-2013, recording a best result of second in Houston last season.
"The track is truly a world class facility and one of the best on the entire calendar. I can't wait to drive there."
The announcement comes after the Circuit of the Americas confirmed it will be the 'official training partner' for the 25-year-old.
"We are thrilled to be a part of Simona's journey to becoming the first full-time female driver in Formula 1 racing," said COTA President and CEO Jason Dial. "What better place for her to continue to advance her training than at Circuit of the Americas, the North American home for world-class motorsports."
