Said Escapes Serious Injury Following Accident at Mosport

Boris Said has escaped serious injuries following a heavy accident in TUDOR United SportsCar Championship practice for Sunday’s Mobil 1 Sportscar Grand Prix at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

The Marsh Racing driver was transported to an area hospital and has been diagnosed with a broken rib. He was released late Friday.

Said’s No. 31 Marsh Racing Corvette DP slammed into the Turn 1 barriers and reportedly sustained significant chassis damage in the high-speed impact.

The car has been withdrawn from the race. IMSA could take the car back to NASCAR’s Research and Development Center in Concord, N.C., where it could undergo further diagnosis.

Eric Curran was due to share the Whelen-sponsored machine with Said on Sunday.
