Newgarden tops opening IndyCar practice in Canada
Josef Newgarden surprised a few people in the IndyCar paddock Friday morning, but not himself. The talented American turned the fastest lap in his Honda to top opening practice for the Honda Toronto Grand Prix. Newgarden pipped Will Power's Chevy by just 0.2112 sec with his fast lap of 1m00.2385s.
Local favorite James Hinchcliffe was third in his Honda and Helio Castroneves 4th in his Chevy followed by three Hondas of Munoz, Pagenaud and Andretti.
