NASCAR Selects IMG To Manage Global Media Distribution

NASCAR today formally announced that it has selected IMG as its int'l media representative, helping the sanctioning body to form a global media distribution strategy. IMG will focus on increasing the sport's footprint, audience base and revenues outside North and South America. All of NASCAR's current int'l broadcast rights, encompassing more than 20 partners in over 175 countries, will expire at the end of the '14 season (NASCAR). Sources said that IMG "will pay an annual rights guarantee and share sales revenue with NASCAR after it recoups its upfront investment." SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL
