New Multi-Million Dollar Deal To Back Holden Racing Team In V8 Supercars

A new multi-million dollar deal "will keep V8 legend the Holden Racing Team alive with embattled Australian car manufacturer Holden set to continue as the famous team’s major sponsor," according to James Phelps of the Sydney DAILY TELEGRAPH. Holden will continue its "proud history of touring car racing by announcing a new multi-year deal with the team Peter Brock and Mark Skaife made famous." Holden will continue its "four-car attack."

Despite suggestions early this year that Holden would quit the sport after deciding to close down its Australian operations, HRT joins Red Bull Racing Australia "as full factory-backed Holden teams with champions Garth Tander, James Courtney, Craig Lowndes and Jamie Whincup their four all-star drivers." GM Holden Motorsport & Sponsorship Manager Simon McNamara confirmed that "a new agreement had been struck to continue Australian motorsport’s longest sponsorship." McNamara said, “Motorsport is part of Holden’s DNA, having raced its products in Australia and overseas with great success for more than 45 years." DAILY TELEGRAPH
