Sprint Cup Chase Berths on Line in Prime Time Richmond Race
With places and positions in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup on the line, the regular season of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series comes to an end at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway in a 400-lap race on Saturday night, Sept. 6. ABC will have a live telecast presented by Autozone. The 10-race Chase, NASCAR’s version of the playoffs, will start the following week. ABC’s race coverage begins with NASCAR Countdown presented by 5-Hour Energy at 7 p.m. ET and the green flag at 7:43 p.m. The race also airs live in Canada on TSN2 and will air in Spanish on ESPN Deportes on Sept. 7 at 4 a.m. ESPN2 will air NASCAR Sprint Cup practice at 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5, and qualifying later that day at 5:30 p.m.
The NASCAR Nationwide Series races at the 0.750-mile Richmond track on Friday night with the race airing on ESPN2. NASCAR Countdown presented by Victory Motorcycles is at 7 p.m. with a 7:43 p.m. green flag. Qualifying airs on ESPN2 at 3:30 p.m. The race also airs live in Canada on TSN2 and will air in Spanish on ESPN Deportes at 4 a.m. on Sept. 6. All NASCAR programming on ESPN2 is available on computers, smartphones, tablets, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Apple TV, Roku and Amazon Fire TV via WatchESPN, accessible to fans who receive ESPN’s linear networks as part of their video subscription from an affiliate provider.

NHRA Lucas Oil Series Action Airs Sunday
The NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series has the weekend off before the start of the Countdown to the Championship, but drag racing fans can still see some racing action on TV. ESPN2 will air one hour of highlights from the recent NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event in Indianapolis on Sunday, Sept. 7, at 9:30 a.m. Following the telecast, ESPN2 also will air the 2013 edition of NHRA Thrills and Spills.
