KTM Plans To Enter MotoGP Starting In 2017

Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM "is planning to join the MotoGP class starting in '17," according to the SID.

KTM Motorsports Dir Pit Beirer said, "We've had a decision by the management to make the big step into this class. We are already working hard on it and will try to have everything in place by 2017."

KTM "would be the sixth manufacturer in the top class." Honda, Yamaha and Ducati "are the three current manufacturers in MotoGP, with Suzuki and Aprilia joining the class in '15." Beirer said that KTM "will not use external suppliers and tries to build the prototype to 100% made in Austria." SID
