Yacaman tops Petit LeMans night practice
Gustavo Yacaman put the No. 42 OAK Racing Ligier JS P2 Honda on top of the charts in the 90-minute night practice Thursday at Road Atlanta, the third of the day for the Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda.
Yacaman, with the engine from Circuit of the Americas reinstalled in the car earlier in the day, set the fastest lap of the session at 1:14.923. It was a little less than three tenths off the overall best time of the day, set in second practice by Sebastien Bourdais.
Richard Westbrook was second in the No. 90 Spirit of Daytona Corvette DP at 1:14.991, with Bourdais clocking in third in the No. 5 Action Express Racing Corvette DP at 1:15.056.
Scott Dixon brought the No. 01 Chip Ganassi Racing Riley-Ford up to fourth at 1:15.138 with the second Action Express entry, the No. 9 Corvette DP driven by Burt and Brian Frisselle and Jon Fogarty, fifth.
