Rick Humphrey Joins IMSA As Vice President Of Properties

The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) today announced the addition of veteran motorsports executive Rick Humphrey, who has joined the organization in the newly created position of Vice President, IMSA Properties.

Humphrey, 46, will oversee the day-to-day operation of the three IMSA Properties: Road Atlanta in Braselton, Ga., Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Fla. and the Chateau Elan Hotel & Conference Center, also in Sebring. He will be based at Road Atlanta and will report to IMSA president and COO Scott Atherton. Humphrey begins his new position immediately.

"As the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship and all of our IMSA-sanctioned racing series continue to grow, we discovered a need to add a day-to-day leader to oversee the experienced and talented staffs at each of our blue chip properties in Braselton and Sebring," said Atherton. "We were able to find what we believe will be a perfect fit in Rick Humphrey. He brings a wealth of experience leading world-renowned motorsports properties and has a skill set ideally suited to aggressively grow our race track and hotel businesses."

Humphrey's career in motorsports began in 1993. He most recently served as Vice President of Zoom Motorsports, promoter of racing events at Barber Motorsports Park in Birmingham, Ala. Prior to that, Humphrey spent 14 years in various roles with International Speedway Corporation (ISC), including President of Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Ala. and ISC Managing Director of Business Operations in the Daytona Beach, Fla. headquarters.

"This is an outstanding opportunity to work at not one, but two of the most prestigious road racing facilities in the world," said Humphrey. "As we saw this year, both Sebring and Road Atlanta continue to have extremely loyal fans and draw massive crowds. My plan is to work with the talented and established staffs and build upon the success that all three facilities enjoy."

Sebring International Raceway president and general manager Tres Stephenson; Road Atlanta president and general manager Geoff Lee and Chateau Élan Hotel & Conference Center general manager Reinhard Haubner all will report to Humphrey.

Humphrey is a graduate of Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, N.C. He will relocate to the Atlanta area with his wife, Trisha, and three young children, Sam, Caroline and Lilly.
