The city of Indianapolis is hosting a community-wide New Year's Eve celebration to ring in 2015 – complete with a suspended IndyCar that will act as the city's "ball drop" at midnight.
Mayor Greg Ballard and Downtown Indy announced plans today for the public celebration on Dec. 31, to be hosted on Georgia Street.
The evening will feature artists like the White Panda, an electronic dance music act, as well as An Innocent Band, a regional Billy Joel tribute band. Corey Cox, the Groove Factor, Greta Speaks and Fred Lockett AKA DJ Lockstar will also perform.
"Indy showed the world it could host a great celebration Downtown during the Super Bowl," Ballard said in a news release. "I am excited to see a similar kind of excitement continue here on Georgia Street as people come together to ring in the New Year."
