Who came up with Milwaukee’s race start time?

Question: Seriously, five ovals and starting the Wisconsin race on a Sunday at 5 p.m. Indianapolis time? I would like to go to Wisconsin, but I wouldn't get back until midnight or later. Some people have jobs on Mondays. Tell the yahoo running IndyCar that we need Michigan and at least Kentucky or Chicago back. I would prefer all three. (Brian, West Lafayette, Ind.)

Answer Curt Cavin Indy Star: Yeah, I'm not a big fan of a 5 p.m. Eastern start, but I'm told there will a full day of on-track activities, and I'm sure the TV window had a lot to do with the green-flag time, which by the way, probably won't be until 5:30 or so. Anyway, I guess we're stuck with it. As for Michigan, it's not happening without a lower sanctioning fee or a title sponsor to defray much of the costs. Same with Kentucky and Chicago. It's simply a matter of economics with the ovals. By the way, there are six ovals: Indianapolis, Texas, California, Iowa, Milwaukee and Pocono.

Editor's Note: IndyCar Oval Analysis

Indianapolis – thriving, should also host season finale, would be huge, but powers to be can't see the forest through the trees
Fontana – One foot in the grave, France family's chance to make IndyCar look like a loser
Iowa – Crowds dwindling, grave being dug, France family's 2nd chance to make IndyCar look like a loser
Milwaukee – One foot in the grave, Anton's 'vision' fulfilled
Pocono – Two feet in the grave, but they have not backfilled the hole yet
