German free-to-air TV channel RTL "recorded only average ratings for its broadcast of the U.S. F1 Grand Prix on Sunday evening," according to Sidney Schering of QUOTENMETER. The race attracted 4.13 million viewers starting at 9:05pm. The number translated into a market share of 12.6%. The pre and post-race coverage attracted 2.51 million and 1.79 million viewers, respectively.
The resulting market shares were 7.1% and 8.4%. In the target demographic 14-49, the race, which was won by Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton, obtained a market share of 12.1% as 1.57 million viewers tuned in. The pre and post-race analysis had a viewership of 1.1 million and 700,000 viewers, respectively. The programs recorded market shares of 8.4% and 8%. QUOTENMETER
