Brazilian GP: Superior Mercedes’ 1-2 in opening practice
Nico Rosberg turned the fastest lap in the opening Formula 1 practice session for the Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos in Sao Paulo.
The Mercedes driver was 0.221secs quicker than his teammate Lewis Hamilton in the other superior Mercedes.
Third fastest was the Toro Rosso of Daniil Kvyat, but he may as well be in another race, almost a full second further back.
Ferrari's Fernando Alonso was fifth fastest, just one place ahead of local hero Felipe Massa in his Williams.
The Red Bulls of Daniel Ricciardo and world champion Sebastian Vettel were tenth and 14th fastest respectively.
