Pagenaud to serve as Rev Honorary Chair
Simon Pagenaud |
Rev, a charity event that will kick off the Month of May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 2, 2015, has announced that Verizon IndyCar Series driver Simon Pagenaud will serve as the 2015 Rev Honorary Chair.
Pagenaud is a four-time race winner in the Verizon IndyCar Series, including the inaugural Grand Prix of Indianapolis in May 2014. He began his Indy car racing career in 2007 and has finished in the top five in championship points in each of the last three seasons. He is also a past champion in the American Le Mans Series and has competed in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, Australian V8 Supercar series and placed second in the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Frenchman will drive the No. 22 Team Penske Chevrolet in 2015.
Pagenaud, who lived in Indianapolis for nine years, is looking forward to returning to IMS to be a part of Rev.
"Our hope is that Rev Indy is going to continue to get better and better and become a tradition for the month of May. If anyone is a fan of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and didn't come to Rev Indy last year, I urge you to put it on your calendar for 2015."
Tickets go on sale Dec. 1 for the event, which will be an evening of entertainment and fun, featuring celebrity and local chefs creating foods inspired by Verizon IndyCar Series drivers.
A partnership between the Indiana University Health Methodist Health Foundation and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Rev raises funds that support Indiana University Health statewide trauma programs including medical services for drivers and patrons at the IU Health Emergency Medical Center of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Last year the event drew more than 1,500 attendees, which raised $100,000 for the cause. Event co-chairs Gary Brackett and Julie Davis have their sights set even higher this year.
"We have a great team thinking of exciting ways to raise the bar, wow guests and build on what we accomplished last year," said Brackett, a former Indianapolis Colts linebacker. "Our fundraising and attendance goals have increased and we have an exciting opportunity to spread awareness of the great things Methodist Health Foundation does for the community."
"We have a stellar group of volunteers and are very excited to be hosted at IMS again," said Davis, director of business development at Worth New York. "We anticipate a sellout event. Those who came last year will want to come back and those who didn't attend will want to. Everyone will have a blast, so be sure to get your tickets on Dec. 1."
