Haselgrove named PWC Director of Competition

Denver, CO – WC Vision has announced Marcus Haselgrove as the new Director of Competition for Pirelli World Challenge.

The series has been working for several months to update Geoff Carter's position as Director of Competition. Carter was offered another role in the Competition Department but declined the offer and chose to leave the Series.

Scott Bove, President and Chief Executive Officer of WC Vision/Pirelli World Challenge, noted, "I want to thank Geoff for his contributions over the past three years as a part of the PWC series operations team. He has helped us get to where we are today, poised, ready, locked and loaded for what will be our best season ever. We all wish Geoff the very best in his future. We are proud of the depth of candidates that PWC was able to attract. We interviewed several, considered two and we are pleased to announce the hiring of Marcus Haselgrove."

Haselgrove commented, "I am very excited to represent Pirelli World Challenge's competitions department in this new chapter. The growth of the Series has a lot to do with the way they embrace manufacturers. While Audi pushed hard for GT3 acceptance, the Series' openness with the manufacturers, metrics, and BoP is something I will grow across all the classes. I would like to also thank Brad Kettler, Audi Sport Customer Racing North America, and the entire Audi family, for the opportunity to have worked with them."

"Marcus brings the depth to the Series' technical and competition staff that we wanted to add to our team," added Bove. "PWC is in a great place right now. If you step back and think about the relatively small size of our business in comparison to others in the world of motorsports, we are proud of our accomplishments and look forward to the 2015 season, which promises to be the best yet."

"Marcus Haselgrove has an established career in sports car racing coming from his recent role as chief engineer for Audi Sport Customer Racing in the U.S. Add in team victories at Le Mans, Sebring, Rolex 24, three World Challenge Championships, his start up experiences with MoTeC here in the U.S. and his depth of manufacturer relationships and you realize Marcus is ideally suited to our organization," stated Greg Gill, WC Vision Vice President and General Manager.

The series plans to make additional hiring announcements in the coming weeks including a Technical Manager and Operation Manager for the TC classes to join Haselgrove's management team.
